I write for all ages and my stories have been sold all round the world as well as in the UK. Something Else, illustrated by Chris Riddell, won the first UNESCO Award for Children's Literature in the Service of Tolerance (under-8 age-group) in 1994. My latest book, Troll Wood, with illustrator Paul Hess, is due to appear in 2012. I live in London.
I love school visits. I do imagination-stretching story-making and writing workshops with children and adults anywhere.
"An excellent visit to the classroom with perfectly pitched resources and interaction that had the children (and Staff!) hooked."
I'm working on a website about grandparents and grandchildren around the world. What do you remember about your grandparents?
I'm adding eBooks of my fiction titles to this site. Until I fine tune things and work out how I might sell them, you can download the full eBook edition of The Emperor's Gruckle Hound absolutely free! The first few chapters of Similon are also available.
